Giving (to Congress) Tuesday
Each year, First Focus on Children publishes The Children’s Budget, which tracks federal spending in more than 250 domestic programs as well as our investments in children
internationally. During our summit releasing this year’s report, HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra, Senator Cory Booker, Congresswoman Barbara Lee, and others all remarked on how invaluable this resource is in reporting the share of federal spending on children overall and across a wide range of policy areas — including child care, health, education, housing, and more.
But, we need to make sure each and every member of Congress — not just our Champions for Children — receives this report. That’s why we’re spending Giving Tuesday stuffing envelopes and delivering this vital report to Capitol Hill. Yes, even during the era of Zoom meetings and virtual briefings, we’re sending real hard copies so they don’t get lost in anyone’s inbox!
Now, here’s where you come in — it costs about $17 to print and ship each copy of Children’s Budget 2021 to the Hill. Would you like to chip in to help cover the cost?
Even a small donation goes a long way in helping us ensure that every office in Washington has this resource and uses it to increase our commitment to children in the federal budget.
