Highlights for Children and First Focus on Children are helping kids like you talk directly to the grown-ups in Washington!
Write a letter with your point of view, then record a video of you reading it — we’ll deliver it to lawmakers to make sure YOUR voice is heard.
First:
Using a pen and paper, write out the letter below, filling in the blanks with your information and thoughts (or come up with your own things to say — be creative)!
Dear Grown-ups,
My name is _______. I am __ years old. I am in __ grade. I live in _______________.
My dream is to _________________________. How will you help me?
One worry I have is ____________________________. What will you do about this?
One thing that I think you should know about kids my age is _________.
If I was in charge, like you, I would ____________________________. What will you do with the power you now have?
Next:
Get permission to record yourself reading your letter on camera and have a parent or guardian fill out the form to the right. Click the button to visit the Virtual Video Booth.
Then:
Record your video right on the Virtual Video Booth website, or upload a video from your phone.
First Focus on Children will share the videos with the president, vice president, and members of Congress.
